The Thrift shop, resale market’s been growing quietly for some years now. But, 2020 onwards, it is set for a BOOM! For environmental reasons, and to the joy of our wallets, it’s time to celebrate.
To encash on the burgeoning resale market, tons of thrift and vintage stores opened – some websites, others on Instagram. Some of those bargain opportunities are amazing, while others appear to be abusing the word vintage in the name of profit. So, how does the average shopper separate the thrifting gold from the secondhand chaff? TLC did a deep dive, and here’s my list of the best Thrift and Vintage Stores on the Interweb!
I assume you, dear reader, already know the popular and well-documented stores Bodements and Carol’s Shop. This list goes beyond these two options, which aren’t always affordable or size-inclusive.
HIPSTER’S PARADISE
These thrift and second-sale stores are replete with funky prints, 90s vibe trousers and jeans. Sport your man-bun,
GROOVY FITS
Imma big fan of Groovy Fits’ funky print shirts!
and their fun accessories.
If you see something you like on their Instagram page, comment BOOK ASAP. They get sold out fast.
90s Somethings’ Preloved Fashion
For the sweetest skirts and size-inclusive needs, 90s Somethings’ is the place to bookmark. Their Instagram highlights are divided from XS to XL, which is helpful as hell!
I’m also really into their coats collection (winter is coming….!)
Vintage Laundry
Curated by stylist Riya Rokade, Vintage Laundry has it all. From sassy skirts to crazy prints, and some cute AF bags thrown in, you can shop-scroll through its page forever. And, its curation is trend on point!
Love me some huge florals any time of the year!
Copper Boom Vintage
If you’re looking for one-off pieces and appreciate ungendered clothing, Copper Boom is your best bet. The store gives me happy vibes all over.
And, for extra good karma points, they donate 20% of their sales from pop-ups to animal welfare.
Retro Days
Looking for killer 60s, 70s inspired clothing? When are we not, right?
Retro Days is here to make your Penny Lane dreams a wonderful, fabulous reality.
Bonus: unlike most of the thrift shops, Retro Days has a 14-day returns/ exchange policy.
FOR MY MINIMALISTS
If you, like me, love the simplicity of well-tailored clothing in muted or solid colours, these thrift and vintage stores gotcha, sibling!
AIMEE LOVED
I have my notifications on for Aimee (and we all know how much I hate notifications.) That tells you everything, doesn’t it?
Check out this chic and sunny coat. I need it in my life!
And this Hooded cracker of jacket
FOLKPANTS
If you’re a seasoned thrifter, chances are you already know Folkpants. But,
Folkpants has it all: some hip-hop style clothing, second-sales from your favourite fast fashion and designer brands, and even some pretty cool bags. Sizes range from XS to the occasional XL.
I’m all about this oversized blazer!
CURATED FINDINGS
There’s nothing not to love about Curated Findings. The dresses are easy-breezy and the shirts are timeless. The clothing size ranges from XS to XL (averages out at mostly small, though.) This is a good place to get you some Pero without your bank accounting plummeting to zero.
DESIGNER LOOT
What would be a thrift shopping experience if you couldn’t get away with some desizner bags and clothes for a steal? There is an unfathomable satisfaction to picking up a coach wallet for Rs 400. And, if that’s what your heart wants, look no further than
VRTT Vintage
A trusted and tried website, VRTT Vintage is a curator of all things designer and beautiful. Even with secondhand sale prices, VRTT Vintage store is not cheap. But, there is the added bonus of authentication, which means you get to buy that cute Stella McCartney bag without worrying about being duped.
Bonus: VRTT Vintage store accepts consignments, so if you have some designer stuff that bores you now, or perhaps was bought by a well-meaning relative with bad taste, this is where to go to unload it. Keep in mind, this vintage store takes a steep 30% commission.
They sell out quick, so keep abreast by following their Instagram page.
MIRINWON
Stocking everything from resale designer bags to Burberry trench coats, Mirinwon is every cool girl’s favourite thrift store destination.

KNITS AND THINGS
For me, this is the most important category of thrift stores. The Indian sustainable clothing market hasn’t yet matured past linen overlays, and some of us (ME!) live in cold climates. I don’t want to turn to dirty H&M (PAY UP, YA JERKS) for my winter wardrobe, and neither should you.
And who comes to our rescue?
Bottom Drawer Vintage
Your grandma’s closet, only chicer. Run by a mother-daughter duo, Bottom Drawer Vintage, and its sister account Bottom Drawer Crochet have the cutest sweaters and crochet pieces on offer.
And their accessories are avocado-s this world

From sweatshirts to the perfect striped turtleneck, secondhand heaven really is a winter shopper’s paradise.
Lingerie
Maybe you’re into this. Maybe you’re not. But, lingerie is expensive, and there’s very few sustainable brassiere brands out there. Alternatively, why not try very hygienic, very cute resale collection of bras?
RIRI Handpicked
The sizing at Riris is pretty inclusive (I think. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.)
and shipping is free!
